Hey, I'm Zak.

Five years ago, I was terrified of food.

I'd been diagnosed with IBS, and for three years it controlled everything. From what I ate, where I went and whether I left the house at all.

Sleepless nights. Stomach cramps. The constant fear of being too far from a toilet. Travelling meant spending most of the time in one. It was exhausting, both physically and mentally. Diabolical, honestly.

And the worst part? Nobody could give me a straight answer. Every bit of advice contradicted the last. "Eat this." "Avoid that." "Just fix your gut." Cheers, very helpful.

So I decided to understand what was actually happening. I studied nutrition at Exeter University and completed specialist training in the FODMAP diet through Monash University.

And slowly, things changed. I reversed my lactose intolerance. I figured out which foods were causing problems, and more importantly, how much of them I could actually eat. Turns out, most "trigger" foods aren't the enemy. The portion is.

Today, I rarely deal with symptoms. I eat without fear and I travel without planning my route around toilets. I've even reached a level of fitness I never thought possible when I was at my worst.

Now I get to share what I've learned. Practical tips, food swaps, portion guidance, and the stuff that actually works, so you don't have to spend three years figuring it out like I did.

I'm not about restriction. I'm not going to hand you a list of 50 foods to avoid and wish you luck. I want you eating normal food, the stuff everyone else eats, just with the knowledge to do it without the gut issues.

That's what this newsletter is for. Short, useful, and something you can actually apply, both right now and long term.

Welcome in. I'll see you tomorrow.

Zak
